WAA Endowment Fund

For more than 140 years, the Wisconsin Alumni Association has been responsible for connecting alumni back to the University. WAA continues in its role of sustaining the UW tradition of excellence with its alumni, by opening new windows of opportunity to graduates who want to make the Wisconsin experience last a lifetime. As a member of WAA's national board of directors, you can play a leadership role in helping to create a legacy of learning by supporting the Wisconsin Alumni Association Endowment, administered by the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Beyond this, as a member of the board, you are a valued ambassador and advocate for the University and WAA through your relationships with campus and community constituents and your cultivation of donors.

WAA identifies three main areas of giving within the endowment: Wisconsin Alumni Lifelong Learning, Recognition Awards and Scholarships, and the Below Alumni Center Legacy funds. As a contributing donor, you'll be recognized in the foundation's capital campaign, and can become an eligible member of the Bascom Hill Society.

Below are descriptions of our three main endowment fund categories.

Lifelong learning is the backbone of the Wisconsin Alumni Association Endowment, and the Wisconsin Alumni Lifelong Learning Fund aims to build a foundation for perpetual alumni education. Your gift will connect accomplished alumni, faculty, students and graduates who welcome the opportunity to take part in an environment of discovery.

It is our pleasure to recognize distinguished individuals for their achievements on campus and around the world. By endowing your gift to the Recognition Awards and Scholarships Fund, you can improve current awards and establish new honors in celebration of leadership and accomplishment.

When UW graduates return to Madison, we want to welcome them in a way that evokes the very first time they set foot on campus. This feeling of excitement and discovery can be accomplished by making their gateway to the university — the Wisconsin Alumni Association — an impressive, educational home away from home.
