The Wisconsin Alumni Association and Wisconsin Public Television sponsored a special preview and discussion of a PBS Frontline documentary with producer David Iverson and University of Wisconsin-Madison professor Clive Svendsen. The event was held at the Fluno Center in Madison on November 11, 2008.
Frontline: A Report on Parkinson's Disease is a story that combines longstanding medical mysteries, remarkable scientific breakthroughs, ethical dilemmas and political debate. It is a story that poses important questions that can spark a dialog about issues of growing significance for science and for society. Parkinson's disease is a condition that may eventually be controlled by advances developed through embryonic stem cell research, providing breakthrough insights into other brain disorders.
