If you want to be a WASB...

Are you a dynamic, energetic, and motivated Badger? If so, the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board invites you to learn more about our organization and ongoing membership drive.

WASB is a student program of the Wisconsin Alumni Association comprised of 65 enthusiastic students dedicated to fulfilling our mission of “linking students past, present and future.” We represent and celebrate the University of Wisconsin through a wide variety of programs, including Dinners On Wisconsin!, MadLaughs, All-Campus Party and so much more.

WASB members are engaged with distinguished alumni, prospective students, University officials, and, most importantly, our fellow students.

When receiving applications from prospective WASB's we look to enrich our ranks with people who embody the ideals of our mission statement. WASB has a limited membership of 65 members. We feel this enables everyone to have a specific task within the WASB teams, serving unique roles in the organization. We find in smaller numbers there is greater accountablilty, sense of achivement, and helps facilitate more of a personal environment.

In the application process we look at your essays to get an understanding of how you communicate and assess your level of creativity and leadership, and in the interview process we get to know you even more as an individual, giving you a chance to showcase skills that are unique to you.

It is also important for you to explore more about WASB by attending our events and reading information posted on our website to get an idea of what interests you most about our organization. We invite you to learn more about WASB and hope you consider applying this spring.

• April 10: WASB Tables at Gordon and Holt Commons, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
• April 16: Free Ice Cream on Library Mall, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
• April 19-26: WASB's All-Campus Party Participate and see WASB in action!
• April 25: New Member Applications due by 4:00 p.m.

Membership in the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board comes down to more than wearing a rugby and fulfilling the requirements listed below. Speaking to any WASB, you would find that the organization quickly becomes a part of who you are, and in so helps to define your college experience as a whole. While we do set "requirements" for our members, it is our sincere hope that each individual takes it upon him or herself to participate in much more than those. Most WASB's find that they are taking part in nearly all of the opportunities that this organization has to offer: not because they have to, but because they want to.
