The Rain Man in All of Us (PDF)

Imagine being able to play a complex piano symphony after hearing it once, even though you’ve never taken a music lesson. Despite suffering from disabilities such as autism, savants demonstrate amazing gifts in areas ranging from music to art to math. Darold Treffert ’55, MD’58 believes that studying these geniuses who live among us could tell us more about the genius that just might lie within each of us.
