Wisconsin Idea: Improving Environmental Health, One Potato Field at a Time

Potatoes are big business in Wisconsin — generating a quarter-billion dollars last year alone. UW-Madison is partnering with potato growers and the World Wildlife Fund to improve the health and sustainability of Wisconsin’s potato crop, the people who produce and eat them, and the land where they are grown.

Year of the Humanities

A yearlong celebration at UW-Madison, featuring 20 ambitious lectures, discussions and performances, is designed to show what the humanities are and how they enrich our lives. All events are free and open to the public.
