Welcome Chancellor Martin

Chancellor Welcome
UW alumni and friends are invited to a celebration, featuring Chancellor Carolyn “Biddy” Martin’s first public address about university priorities and the university’s future, on Oct. 23 at the Kohl Center. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. for free food, music and festivities, with Chancellor Martin’s address expected to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Performance Center to Get $20 Million Boost

Two anonymous donor gifts totaling $20 million will support the East Campus Gateway and a new performance center for the School of Music. The gifts were announced during an “Evening of Celebration,” featuring student performances in music, drama and dance in honor of former Chancellor John D. Wiley.

The Wisconsin Idea: Professor Tracks Mosquitoes for the Sake of Public Health

UW entomology professor Susan Paskewitz conducts “human landing catch” surveys to help determine how many Wisconsin mosquitoes carry the West Nile virus, where they’re breeding and how often they’re biting — essential information for public health officials.
