Pneumonia… or not

By now Sean has had…
• two visits to doctors
• two sets of chest X-rays
• one swine flu culture (apparently negative, or you’d be hearing about him on the news)
• two medications
• one worried roommate, especially with finals coming up
• five face masks — two yellow, three blue
• at last count, 32 jokes, remarks, or questions about said face masks — whether he has swine flu, or is just freakishly paranoid about getting it
And as of yesterday, he probably had pneumonia; he still wasn’t feeling better; but he was expected to feel better by Sunday or Monday, courtesy of the two meds.
Today, though, his doctor says that they think it’s not pneumonia after all, and is probably just a garden-variety flu.
Beats me. Tonight we’ll attend the choir concert that he most likely won’t be able to sing in, and we’ll look for him in the audience. He’ll be the guy with the face mask who’s coughing.
