MADISON, Wis. — Stephanie Swartz, chief nursing officer for Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center of La Crosse, Wis., has been named to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA).
WAA, based in Madison, is an independently financed, nonprofit organization, dedicated to serving alumni of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Swartz graduated with honors from UW-Madison in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and later earned her master’s degree in servant leadership from Viterbo University. She is a member of the UW–Madison School of Nursing board of visitors and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She is a member of the advisory board for the Viterbo University School of Nursing and a past board member for the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation.

As a member of the WAA board, Swartz partners with the association’s executive leadership and staff to drive the organization’s strategic thinking and direction. WAA board members review and approve policy, oversee WAA finances, and serve as ambassadors for UW-Madison and WAA by strengthening relationships with campus and community leaders in Wisconsin and around the world.
