MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department in partnership with the Wisconsin Alumni Association will host a "Sweet 16" pep rally in Detroit on March 28.
The event will be in downtown Detroit at
Cheli's Chili Bar, the Official Badger Headquarters for the duration of Wisconsin's stay in Detroit.
The UW Spirit Squad and UW Band will perform beginning at 5 p.m. eastern on Friday, March 28. Admission is free. Space is limited, so Badger fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early as this event will likely reach capacity.
Following the pep rally, Wisconsin will face Davidson at 7:10 p.m. eastern in a Midwest Regional semifinal game at Ford Field. The winner of that game will face the Kansas/Villanova winner Sunday afternoon for a spot in the Final Four.
Cheli's Chili Bar is owned and operated by former Badger hockey great and future NHL Hall of Famer, Chris Chelios. It features 36 flat screen TVs and a full menu of food and beverages on three floors. For this event, an additional heated outdoor tent will be in place. Cheli's Chili Bar is located at 47 East Adams Avenue in downtown Detroit, just one block from Ford Field.
The UW Athletic Department has sold out its allotment of tickets to the Midwest Regional. However, tickets are still available for both the regional semifinals and final through
Ticketmaster.
