MADISON, Wis. -- May graduates can prepare to "move on" by attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Countdown to Commencement. This one-stop-shop opportunity will take place in TITU Memorial Union on Tuesday, April 8 and Room 240 in Union South on Wednesday, April 9.
The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, is sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA), The University Book Store, the Wisconsin Union, and UW-Madison.
Countdown to Commencement allows students to get answers about the May ceremony, check graduation eligibility, reserve caps and gowns, and order class rings and graduation announcements. Staff will also be on hand to explain the benefits of joining the Wisconsin Alumni Association, such as discounts on Kaplan Test Prep courses and access to UW Libraries research databases.
Students can also learn about access to WAA's short-term health insurance, career resources and free uwalumni.com e-mail accounts. At the event, students can also sign up for the Wisconsin Union's life membership program and support their Senior Class Gift through the UW Foundation.
Spring graduates who attend Countdown to Commencement may also enter a door prize drawing to win prizes such as an iPod Shuffle and lifetime memberships to WAA or the Wisconsin Union. For more details, visit
