MADISON, Wis.—University of Wisconsin-Madison students are invited to “Bare It All for Charity” at the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB) 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Nov. 22.
There is no cost to enter the race. Instead of paying a fee, participants are asked to wear all of their gently used clothing that they intend to donate. Then, before the race begins, runners shed their extra layers into donation buckets, with all the clothing going to St. Vincent de Paul.
“As the weather gets colder, it is important to remember those who don’t have enough warm clothing,” said WASB member Tom Llaurado. “This is a great way for students to give back to the greater Madison community.”
Participants are asked to pre-register online before the race, but additional registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the race. Details and registration are available at

The run/walk, beginning at 11 a.m., will wind through the UW-Madison campus. Anyone unable to participate in the race itself is still invited to donate clothing in Library Mall from 9:30 a.m. until noon on race day. Copper Gable Café has donated coffee and refreshments for all participants.
