The fashionable estate, lovingly created by theater legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, is a world-class house museum, offering truly inspirational tours. You'll also enjoy a classic fashion exhibit and an exclusive talk from a UW expert on this bygone era.

Ten Chimneys, a literal and metaphorical home for the arts, has opened its doors to stage and screen stars like Sir Laurence Olivier and Katharine Hepburn. And now you're invited inside too!
The fashionable estate, lovingly created by theater legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, is a world-class house museum, offering truly inspirational tours. You'll also enjoy a classic fashion exhibit and an exclusive talk from a UW expert on this bygone era.
- See Fashion Forward, a special exhibit for 2008 including gowns designed by luminaries like Molyneux and Valentina, and stunning garments created by Lynn Fontanne herself.
- Explore the elegant three-story Main House, the Swedish-style log cabin Studio, the enchanting Cottage, the Poolhouse, Greenhouse and Creamery, and more.
- Hear from UW professor and department chairperson, Diane Sheehan, as she spotlights the fashions and designs of the day exclusively for Made in Wisconsin participants.
- Enjoy lunch at Ten Chimneys surrounded by memorabilia from the era's most popular performers.

Nowhere else can you enjoy a truly inspirational tour, an exclusive lunch and talk, and bus transportation (if needed) all in one package.
When registering, you (and your guest) will be able to select one of three gourmet sandwiches for lunch. The meal will also include fruit salad, homemade chips, dessert, and beverages.
Cost: $74 per person (includes round-trip bus transportation from Madison). A commuter rate of $64 per person is also available. Registration deadline is June 2, 2008.

The bus will depart at 8:15 a.m. from Capitol Lakes (formerly Meriter Main Gate) at 333 W. Main Street in downtown Madison, and will return at approximately 4:15 p.m.

About Diane Sheehan
Diane Sheehan has been a member of the University of Wisconsin faculty since 1990, teaching courses in textile design. In 2005 she was awarded the Emily Mead Baldwin-Bascom Professorship in the Arts by the UW-Madison Arts Institute. With well over 100 national and international exhibitions, she has also lectured in England, Ireland and Japan. Her book, Ideas in Weaving, co-authored with Ann Sutton, serves as a text for weaving classes in the United States and Europe. The recipient of National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in 1988 and 1992, she has also been awarded grants by Arts Midwest, the Lily Endowment, Purdue University and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School. Her current work uses computerized weave systems to produce works that are both narrative and sculptural.
