overnight accommodations

Optional overnight housing is available at Ogg Hall, a university residence hall, for an additional fee. Ogg Hall is located on the southeast corner of Park and Dayton Streets. The cost for the one night is $53 per adult and $43 per child, and includes meals - one breakfast and two lunches - in Gordon Commons. Children must share a room with an adult. Each room contains two single beds. Rooms can accommodate a maximum of three people, and rollaway beds are available upon request. Additional adult single rooms are $75.

A block of rooms also has been reserved at the Doubletree Hotel (located on Dayton Street, three blocks east of Ogg Hall; 608-251-5511), at the discounted rate of $149 per night. Be sure to mention the “Grandparents University®” room block when you call for reservations. Meals for the program are not included when you stay here.

While we recommend staying on campus to enjoy the full program experience, you may choose to stay elsewhere during the program and commute to campus.

The Thursday night Badger picnic is included in the program fee. You are able to purchase extra picnic tickets for family members at $17 per adult and $15 for children ages 11 and younger. Again, if you are staying on campus at Ogg Hall, your meals — one breakfast and two lunches — are included with your lodging costs.

If you are staying elsewhere, you may wish to purchase a “meals-only” package. That rate is $28 for adults and $22 for children, and includes one breakfast and two lunches at Gordon Commons. Individual meal tickets may also be purchased at check-in.
