Let WAA know your Student Sendoff date by May 1 so it can be included on the calendar of events, at new student orientation, etc. This will also ensure sufficient time for printing invitations, mailing decorations, etc. WAA recommends that all send-off events take place late July or early August.
Sendoff events should be free to students with a small fee for others (suggested $5-$12).
Get current students or recent graduates involved. Have them share their experience at UW-Madison, and then meet and mingle with the new students. If current students or recent grads cannot attend, have them submit testimonials about their experience. Your staff liaison can assist you in identifying these individuals.
Hand out information relevant to students.
Information about local bus service to and from Madison.
Distribute student contact information to assist in arranging rides back during breaks
