Do Something GREAT For Local Families This Thanksgiving!!!
This Saturday as we come together at Hamilton’s and the Tortoise & Hare to watch our Badgers take on Northwestern at 3:30pm we’ll be collecting food donations for a local pre-school for homeless kids that puts together dinners for their students' families on Thanksgiving. Please consider being a part of this wonderful tradition to make this Thanksgiving complete for a DC family in need. As a thank you for helping out we’ll give you a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes.

Volunteer Event: 10th Annual Everythying but the Turkey
Once again, the DC Badgers are participating in the DC Jewish Community Center's Everything but the Turkey event on Monday, November 23rd. Join fellow Badgers in lending a helping hand this holiday season and help the DCJCC reach its goal in preparing over 10,000 meals for DC residents in need. This is a great opportunity to meet new UW alumni and help make a difference in the community.

WAA: DC Chapter Has a Second Home for Badger Gamedays
The Wisconsin Alumni Association: DC Chapter is proud to announce that area UW alumni and Wisconsinites have another place to watch our favorite team on gameday, Tortoise & Hare in Crystal City.
Located just minutes away from the Crystal City, Pentagon City and Pentagon metro stations (Yellow/Blue Lines), the Tortoise & Hare offers plenty of seating with several large HD televisions to ensure you can always see the Badgers in action! This family-friendly establishment has a mouth watering menu and a special gameday menu that includes Wisconsin favorites, brats and tots.
The Tortoise & Hareare offers tremendous service as well as live music entertainment throughout the week. If you are in the Crystal City area, stop in!

UW Alumni License Plate Offer for Maryland Residents
The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) Washington, DC Chapter has initiated the creation of University of Wisconsin organizational license plates for the State of Maryland. The original September 30th deadline for ordering your license plate has past, but don't worry, you will still have the opportunity to attain your own license plates soon on the Maryland MVA website.

Giving News: Scholarship named after local alumnus, Sanford K. Ain
Named Washington DC’s top divorce attorney by Washingtonian Magazine, Sanford K. Ain earned another honor from the DC WAA Alumni Board. In October, 2008, Ain was honored by DC Badgers as a distinguished alumnus and received a named scholarship in his honor.
Ain graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1969 and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1972.
Since then, Ain has tailored his life and work achievements to represent the UW Idea: the boundaries of the university’s classrooms should extend throughout the state and world to influence and improve people’s lives.
To honor Ain's achievements, the Wisconsin Alumni Association DC Chapter established a scholarship in his name. To support the Sanford K. Ain Scholarship Fund, make a gift online or donate via U.S. Mail. For more information, email Nicole Nelson.
