Her dedication to Bucky goes beyond the tanks filled with Lake Superior trout and rare coral from the Florida Keys. When she purchased her home in Milwaukee, a white house with red shutters, the basement was painted in maroon and gold — Minnesota Gopher colors.
She quickly remedied that unacceptable décor with some red and white paint, and now has the perfect room to display the Wisconsin Badger merchandise she won in the photo contest, including UW-Madison coffee mugs, a T-shirt from Sconnie Nation and a cooler donated by M&I Bank.
Alumni and friends submitted 70 photos in the 2008 Badger Spirit Photo contest. Other winners included the UW Health Clinic in Appleton, Wis., which sent the largest group photo, and 2008 graduates John Sinclair and Steff Morgan, whose photo from Sydney, Australia, qualified as the photo sent from the furthest distance from Madison.
The UW Health Clinic employees won a set of pilsner glasses from M. LaHart & Co., while Sinclair and Morgan received a $100 gift certificate from University Book Store. More than 30 other prizes went to alumni who sent photos from their homes and businesses in Wisconsin, across the nation and places around the globe.
