Local Couple Named 2007 Badgers of the Year

Longtime Amery residents, Mike and Pat Cwayna, have been named the 2007 “Badgers of the Year” by the Wisconsin Alumni Association: Polk County Chapter. The Cwayna's received this award in recognition of their many contributions to the Polk County community and their involvement in WAA and our Polk County Chapter.

Mike played football at UW and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in '55 and his law degree in '61. Pat earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology in '59.

They were honored at the May Founders’ Day celebration and were presented with an award by UW alumnus, Jared Waterman.

Scholarships

One of the missions of our chapter is to raise scholarship funds for deserving students from Polk County who attend UW-Madison. All funds collected for the scholarship, up to $8,000, will be matched by the UW Foundation. For more information, please click on our scholarship page.
