WAA: Mile High Region Chapter Scholarships
Each year the University of Wisconsin Mile-High Alumni Chapter is able to give partial support for between six and thirteen Colorado students studying at UW-Madison. The grants have ranged from $600 to $1,500 per student per year. The amount available each year depends on the success of local fund-raising efforts.
During the past nineteen years, the Mile-High Chapter has supported 68 different students. The total amount contributed by the local chapter during that time is $80,575. With matching support from the University of Wisconsin Foundation, we have been able to award $161,150 in scholarship support. The scholarships have been renewable and some students have received total grants of $4,400 over a four-year period.

University of Wisconsin Mile-High Alumni Chapter Scholarship Report – 2008-2009
This report summarizes the scholarship activity of the University of Wisconsin Mile-High Alumni Chapter during the nineteen years since 1989-1990.
1. Total funds contributed by the Chapter: $80,575 for an average annual contribution of $4,240. $4,500 was contributed during 2008.
2. Total scholarship dollars awarded using matching funds from the University of Wisconsin Foundation: $161,150 for average annual awards of $8,481.
3. Scholarship support has been awarded to sixty-eight (68) individuals through an average total award per student of $2,370. The range of total awards per student is $450 to $4,400.

To apply for a scholarship the student must first have been accepted for admission to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Applications may be submitted at any time, but to assure consideration for the following academic year, they be received no later than May 15th. The Scholarship Committee and the Board of Directors reviews applications during May and June and must submit recommendations to the Wisconsin Alumni Association in July each year.
