WAA: Kansas City Chapter

• cooperate with WAA in promoting the best interests of the university.
• encourage qualified young people to attend UW-Madison.
• support local students attending the UW.
• provide UW-Madison alumni, parents, and students in the area with a local connection to the university.
• foster fellowship and cooperation among alumni and friends of the UW.
• serve as a tool for networking in the local job market.
• provide leadership in the support of higher education.
• socialize in the famous Badger tradition!
• assist and support UW student and alumni organizations.
• maintain awareness of legislative developments affecting the university.

The University of Wisconsin Alumni Club of Kansas City serves the more than 1,000 alumni in the Kansas City metropolitan area and nearby areas, including Lawrence, Kansas. We are a friendly group of people who get together for a number of social and service events each year. Annual highlights include:

• Founders Day dinner, with a speaker from the University (spring);
• Baseball game and tailgate party (summer);
• Awarding scholarships to incoming freshmen at the University (summer);
• Representation for the University at College Nights at high schools (October);
• Badger Sports (Football, Basketball, Hockey) Watch Parties at Lew's Grill and Bar, 75th & Wornall;
• Charitable event (winter).

Our club has always been made up of dedicated volunteers who are very open to any other suggestions for events. If you have ideas, or want to get involved in club leadership, please contact one of the officers, who will welcome your suggestions and involvement.
