WAA-Houston: Badger Fans

The die-hard Badger fans go to SRO Sports Bar - Northwest Mall.
This is the only known Houston venue where you can get the games on a big screen, with sound, no matter the size of the group.

SRO has an elaborate setup that even includes an old-school "big" satellite receiver. In general, if your friends in Wisconsin can get the game, SRO can get the game.

Every spring, WAA-Houston attempts to purchase a block of tickets to a Badger football game in Madison. We are only able to do so through donations to our Athletic Fund.

Past ticket sales have included:
2008: Akron
2007: Northern Illinois
2006: Northwestern
2005: none
2004: none
2003: Ohio State
2002: Arizona

Wondering about those ticket sales in future years? Our current plans are to try for:
2009: Michigan State (09/26)
2010: Minnesota (10/02) or Ohio State (10/09)

We need your help for 2009!
Our athletic donations failed to keep pace with the demand and we just missed a chance at Michigan State tickets in 2007 and Penn State in 2008.

If you have used our sports tickets in the past, or are a devoted Badger fan, please consider making a tax-deductible, employer-matched donation that will benefit UW Athletics and your fellow Houston alumni.

Athletic Fund donations also allow us to get tickets to special sports events, often ahead of the general publc.

All such tickets are first offered to our athletic donors, then to our general membership. Numbers made available to WAA-Houston vary greatly by event.

2002: Alamo Bowl

When will our beloved Football teams be back in the area? Here is what we know:

Badgers - no regular season games until at least 2015. Better hope for a Sugar Bowl bid.

Packers - 2008 in New Orleans; 2009 in New Orleans (maybe)
