Each year, the Wisconsin Alumni Association® (WAA) awards scholarships to outstanding junior and senior students attending UW-Madison. Two senior men and two senior women will be awarded life memberships in the Wisconsin Alumni Association in addition to a $250 award in recognition of their achievements at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and contributions to the campus community.
In addition, between five and seven (number of scholarships varies) junior candidates are awarded cash scholarships based on academic excellence, overall achievement and contributions to the campus community.
Award categories:
Four Senior Awards, which include life membership in WAA and a $250 award Imogene Hand Carpenter Scholarship (juniors eligible), $1,000 per award Catherine Klein Scholarship, (juniors eligible), $500 per award
Who can apply:
Senior Awards: Four awards of WAA Life Membership with $250 cash award - Current full-time (12 or more credits) senior undergraduate students at UW-Madison with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher may apply. Eligible students must be graduating in May or December 2007 in order to qualify for the Senior Award. All students must be available for in-person interviews in Madison during the spring 2007 semester. Junior Awards: Four to six awards ranging from $500 to $1,000 - Current full-time (12 or more credits) junior undergraduate students at UW-Madison with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher may apply. Eligible students must be graduating in May or December 2008 in order to qualify for the Junior Award. All students must be available for in-person interviews in Madison during the spring 2007 semester.
