"Welcome to Convention 2008! Everyone get excited for what is sure to be the best convention yet! Regardless of what your favorite Madison pastimes may be, there will be many opportunities to experience fabulous new things alongside some Madison classics. The lineup of activities includes a beautiful afternoon of golfing followed by a welcome dinner at the Wisconsin Historical Society, a customized “Vikings in History” tour complete with a reception at the Brittingham mansion, the formal dinner (i.e. dance party), Badger football and the new and much anticipated Viking talent show. To make it even better, we are expecting record numbers of attendees from all over the world! This will be the first convention that I personally will be able to attend and therefore I guarantee it will be the best one yet! I have not seen many of you since I was in a Madison Viking in Oslo in 2005—so see you next September!"

"The 2008 Brittingham Viking Convention will be the best yet because, for starters, every year’s convention is better than the last, because every year we welcome more people into our Viking family. As the ripples continue to grow, so does the strength of our organization and that is reflected every year at our conventions. I would also like to also like to point out, however, that one of my hosting responsibilities involves the Badger football game and tailgating beforehand. I’m looking forward to arranging an experience that won’t soon be forgotten. See you all soon!"
