WAA: Austin Chapter

Each week, our Club gathers to meet, socialize, and cheer on the Badgers as they march towards the National and Big Ten Championships. This season our Club will watch games at Third Base (downtown at 6th and Mopac) but may change venue if there is a conflict with a UT game.

The 26th Annual University of Wisconsin-Madison Alumni Club of Austin Brat Fest was held Thursday, October 8, 2009 and was a great success. With over 100 UW Alumni friends and family in attendance, the event featured a feast of brat and pot luck dishes, a silent auction, and a raffle of UW gear. Brat Fest 2009 raised over $1000 for the Club's Scholarship Fund.

Austin Marathon Relay
Sunday, September 27, 2009

This year our Club fielded a team for the Silicon Labs Marathon Relay on Sunday, September 27, 2009. The 26 miles (42km) is broken up into five legs of varying distances, split amongst a team of five runners. "Team Austin Badgers" posted a time of 3:50-- not bad considering the heat!

The intent of fielding the team was to raise money for our Club's scholarship fund, and in the event's first year, the team raised over $600-- which will then be matched by the WAA for a total of over $1,200!

If you are interested in playing softball, whether you're a novice or the next Ryan Braun, come out and join fellow UW alumni and other Big Ten alumni in a very recreational softball leauge on Wednesday nights at the Krieg Field softball complex.

Give to the UW Alumni Club of Austin Scholarship Fund. All funds collected, up to $8,000, will be matched by the UW Foundation. All proceeds will go to deserving local students attending UW-Madison.
