NCAA - Detroit --- Disappointing Result, But Fun!!!
Here are some pictures from the NCAA Weekend in Detroit. We got our tails kicked by Cinderella's Slipper worn by Davidson. Stephen Curry shot the eyes out of the basket and the Badgers could not respond. In spite of the abrupt ending to the season, the Badgers had a great effort surpassing pre-season projections. Arrangements were made with Chris Chelious to use his restaurant/bar as a meeting place for the Badgers. The Alumni Club erected a circus tent in the parking lot to hold a pre-game pep rally. We stopped at Chelious's Bar the nite before and had a chance to visit with Bo Ryan's wife and daughter. Neat.... The NCAA used Ford Field to hold the regional. It is the home field for the Lions and they put the floor in the middle of the football field. There were some complaints about the distance from the field to the seats and the sight lines. We had mid-high sideline seats which were ok... Copy the following link into your browser to check out some pictures from the weekend. http://www.photoshow.com/watch/uK2Ix5jX We'll try to have a list of UW sports in the NE Ohio area for next year... Go Badgers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wis vs. OSU - Columbus and Wis W Basketball vs Cleve State - Cleveland
Sorry for the long time to publish this update, but it took awhile to overcome the depression after the loss to OSU. Got some good pictures of the Badger Huddle, the stadium, and the band. It was a nice day… The Women’s Basketball Team played at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland vs. Cleveland State. After we arrived and looked at the program, it was apparent why Wisconsin came to play in Cleveland. The CSU coach, Kate Abiab and assistant coach Annie Thomas (wife of Cleve. Brown Joe, see article in Akron Beacon Journal – http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/13964607.html ) are graduates of the Badger Women’s BB Program. In addition, 4 of the CSU players hail from Wisconsin. Check out the picture of the CSU bench showing Kate and Annie. We were part of a crowd of about 200 people bouncing around in the huge facility. We sat behind the parents of Lyn Zastrow, freshman from Jefferson and had a good visit with them. After the game, Caitlin Gibson, Sarah Ingison and Zastrow came up and visited with the 4 of us. Zastrow has stepped up and is getting more playing time and contributing to the recent success of the Women’s team. The selection of music to back up the photo shows is very limited. This time, go to www.uwbadgers.com, then follow ‘sports/spirit squad/band/music…’. and select "On Wisconsin', Varsity, Bud, or whatever you choose.
Take a look at the pictures of Wisconsin Badgers return to the Outback Bowl in Tampa. Unfortunately, the outcome of the game wasn’t what we had hoped, but the rest of the trip was enjoyable and the weather was wonderful. The first event was the Badger Band concert in a plaza along the water on New Year’s evening. Unfortunately, these pictures are from the cell phone camera. Then there was a small parade in Tbor City, a quaint ethnic neighborhood on the south side. The game was early on New Year’s morning and the Badgers had a number of chances to win, but couldn’t quite prevail. The picture of the sand carving is on St Pete beach.
