MADISON, Wis. -- Alumni are returning to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus on Nov. 22-23, 2008 for a weekend honoring the Greek community's rich tradition and heritage.
Last October, Greek Life celebrated its 150th anniversary on campus with an event-filled reunion weekend. As a result of last year's success, the Wisconsin Alumni Association, in partnership with the Greek Life offices, will make the Greek Reunion Weekend an annual event.
The 2008 weekend will kick-off with a Wisconsin tailgate at Union South before the last home football game of the season, Wisconsin vs. California Polytechnic State at Camp Randall Stadium. All alumni who participate in the weekend will have access to tickets for the football games and tailgate. Many fraternities and sororities around campus will also host post-game barbecues for their alumni.
On Sunday, Nov. 23, sorority alumnae will be given the opportunity to attend an All-Alumnae Panhellenic Brunch, honoring sorority women and their accomplishments. Various fraternities and sororities will also host open house receptions during a Parade of Homes tour in the afternoon. The tour is open to the public and free of charge.
This year, every Greek chapter on campus will be given the opportunity to participate. Last year's participating sororities included Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Pi Beta Phi. The participating fraternities included Alpha Gamma Rho, Sigma Phi, and Tau Kappa Epsilon.
