Despite its rich indigenous history, UW-Madison hasn't always been a favorable place for American Indian students. Today, Native students make up less than 1 percent of the university's enrollment, and many of those who come drop out before graduation — factor that are frustrating the university's diversity goals. Can the situation be improved?
