The Wisconsin Alumni Association® (WAA) is looking for several student writers with strong writing, reporting, interviewing and research skills to assist with media and public relations activities. This student position requires requires professionalism and demonstrated excellence in news writing and interviewing. The position offers the opportunity to develop a writing portfolio while improving skills in newswriting/public relations. The positions are part of the Marketing and Communications department, and will begin in Fall 2008.
Hours: 5-10/week (flexible) Rate: $9/hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and write feature articles for WAA Web site and publications
Interview alumni and newsmakers in person and via phone
Attend WAA events, as needed
Skills, Training and Experience Required:
Demonstrated excellence in news writing
Knowledge of UW-Madison and appreciation for fields of media, public and alumni relations
