- Making Housing Decisions
It’s not unusual for students to feel pressured already to start making decisions about their living arrangements for next year. At this session, presenters from University Housing and Campus Area Housing will share information to help your student make the best decision. Topics include the benefits of university residence halls, leasing trends and university resources that help students find quality rentals. The session will also include a student panel that will share its housing decisions and experiences, and answer parents’ questions.
- Study-Abroad Opportunities
Presented by International Academic Programs
International Academic Programs (IAP), a department in the Division of International Studies, offers more than 170 study-abroad programs to UW-Madison students. Study-abroad is a rewarding, life-transforming experience that complements many academic programs. Attend this session to learn more about these opportunities from IAP staff and returned study-abroad participants.
- Major Decisions: The Secret behind the Success
For most students, choosing a major is just one piece of the puzzle when considering all of the experiences that represent a students’ educational journey, and the power of the collective whole. Becky Ryan, Cross-College Advising Service (CCAS), will discuss a new paradigm for considering the process of making academic and career decisions. Students are encouraged to actively engage in strategies to gain self-awareness, explore related and new perspectives, and find ways to maximize their opportunities to develop their unique strengths. Using this new paradigm, these students will have the edge needed to succeed.
