The Power of Music in the Vietnam War

Join veteran and University of Wisconsin-Madison author and educator Doug Bradley to explore how music shaped the American experience during the Vietnam era. Bradley, co-author of We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War, will discuss the impact and meanings of iconic songs, both at home and in the combat zone. The book, co-authored by UW-Madison professor Craig Werner, was named Rolling Stone’s best music book of 2015. We’ll also preview the much-anticipated Ken Burns & Lynn Novick documentary The Vietnam War, coming this September.
