Lessons in Leadership: A Badger’s Journey

After beginning his academic career as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Dr. Michael Johnson’s 42-year journey through higher education has included roles as a research professor, dean, provost, and university president. His talk will reflect on how his Wisconsin education prepared him for these roles and the lessons he learned along the way. Those lessons include how good leaders go unnoticed; put their institutions first; and constantly listen, learn, and educate.
