UW Showcase Day

Start with an optional tour of the acclaimed Chazen Museum of Art, featuring the exhibition Spark and Flame: 50 Years of Art Glass and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Then you’re in for the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s UW Showcase Day (formerly Day on Campus).

With an interdisciplinary focus, it’s a novel way to see the Wisconsin Idea in action through renowned UW faculty and their areas of expertise. In between feeding your mind, you’ll also enjoy a delicious lunch.

10:45–11:45 a.m. Session I: Jon Pevehouse, Political Transitions in the Middle East
11:45 a.m.–12:55 p.m. Lunch
  Includes undergraduate student research projects that participants can view and inquire about. 
1:00–2:00 p.m. Session II: Paula Niedenthal, Human Emotions and Facial Expressions
2:15–2:30 p.m. Break
2:15–3:15 p.m. Session III: Don Waller, Local Losses, Global Declines: Tracking Ecological Change in Wisconsin
3:15–3:30 p.m. Break
3:30–4:30 p.m. Session IV: Claudia Card, The Meaning of Genocide
4:30 p.m. UW Showcase Day concludes, WAA Expo opens
 
Day on Campus 2011
More than 120 people filled the halls of UW-Madison’s newest architectural masterpiece, the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery building on September 9, 2011, to see the Wisconsin Idea at work. Day on Campus left Badger alumni and friends with a better appreciation of how the university is moving science forward. Read a full recap of the day’s events.
