Tom Noland retirement

After 25+ years as the tree biochemistry research scientist at the Ontario Forest Research Institute in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Tom Noland Master of Science Forestry ’77 retired in December 2016. During his tenure as a research scientist he had project focusing on competition tolerance in seedlings, remote sensing of forest health and sustainable harvest and production of Canada yew for anticancer drugs like taxol. He published over 70 research papers during his career and mentored over 70 high school, college, university and graduate students.
