Steve Bishop Named Firmwide Co-Chair of Perkins Coie’s Intellectual Property Practice

Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Steve Bishop and Shannon Bloodworth have been named Firmwide Co-Chairs of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. Steve, a partner in the firm’s Seattle office, and Shannon, a partner in its Washington, D.C. office, succeed former Co-Chairs Paul Parker and Jon James.

Prior to becoming a partner at Perkins Coie, Steve was the associate general counsel for intellectual property at Amazon. He currently concentrates his practice on the development and analysis of patent portfolios, including analysis of competitor portfolios, identification of patents in a portfolio for sale or other monetization, and protection of key intellectual property assets. Steve also has significant experience in the creation of corporate intellectual property programs. He has particular experience in mobile computing device, internet and telecommunications technologies.

Shannon represents pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in complex patent litigation. Her experience includes trying large-scale patent litigation cases relating to pharmaceutical patents and counseling domestic and international pharmaceutical companies in their patent litigation and regulatory strategies. Additionally, Shannon has provided guidance on all aspects of the Hatch-Waxman Act and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act.
