Selected as one of two US Artists (25 World Wide) to participate in Fifth Annual “Waste To Art” program in Baku, Azerbaijan: Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch

Two US Artists were selected to join 23 others world-wide to create art using recycled materials for the “Waste to Art” Museum in Baku, Azerbaijan. A state sponsored waste management company is bringing artists from around the world to work side-by-side during a residency that culminates in an exhibit at the “Waste To Art” Museum in Baku, Azerbaijan. Artworks will then become part of the permanent museum collection.

The company is working to find new and innovative ways to educate the public on recycling and re-use. I will be making a piece that incorporates recycled eyeglass lenses and acupuncture needle guides. The artwork, titled “Current” addresses the plastic pollution that ends up in the world’s oceans.
