Marta Jewson receives New Orleans Press Club’s highest writing honor

Education reporter Marta Jewson won first-place in the New Orleans Press Club’s investigative category for her stories about how a local charter school board sidestepped the state’s Open Meetings Law during a teachers’ union drive. For her entry, she also won the coveted Alex Waller Memorial Award for best overall writing. Jewson writes for The Lens, New Orleans’ first non-profit newsroom.
