Forward under 40: Making a Difference in Public Service

MADISON, Wis. — Several University of Wisconsin-Madison graduates who have made an impact through public service have been honored with the new Forward under 40 Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA).

Honorees are featured in Forward under 40, a publication to be distributed in March 2008 to 100,000 UW-Madison alumni and WAA members.

Recipients in public service include:
  • Leslie Goldman ’98, Chicago. Author and speaker about women’s health and body image issues.
  • Claire Herrick MD’07, San Francisco. OB-GYN resident at UC-San Francisco and health advocate in Tanzania and areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
  • Janet Olson ’92, New Brighton, Minn. Veterinarian and founder of Basic Animal Rescue Training (BART), to provide emergency first-response care for companion animals.
  • Amanda Rockman ’01, JD’05, Black River Falls, Wis. Associate trial judge for the Ho Chunk Nation.
  • Mary Rohlich ’03 and Lesley Feinstein ’03, Los Angeles. Founders of the Hollywood Badgers, to help UW alumni living in the L.A. area and UW students get a start in the entertainment industry.
