MADISON, Wis. — University of Wisconsin-Madison alumni in Houston will celebrate the founding of the university with a talk from the dean of students at their alma mater on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Lori Berquam, dean of students at UW-Madison, will present her lecture, “Embracing the Wisconsin Experience” at the Wisconsin Alumni Association: Houston Chapter Founders’ Day event.
The Founders’ Day event will start at 7 p.m. at St. Arnold’s Brewery, 2522 Fairway Park Drive. News media are welcome to attend. For more details, visit

Berquam served as the UW’s interim dean of students for a year and a half before her permanent selection in February 2007. She is the university’s chief student affairs officer, and plays a vital role in promoting diversity, providing crisis services and advocating for student leadership.
Founders’ Day 2008 is presented in cities nationwide by the Wisconsin Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization, in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
