Akha Village, Laos
My girlfriend, a Williams alumnus, and I hiked in the Luang Nam Tha Nature Reserve in northern Laos. We came to the Akha village people, who welcomed us with food and plenty of 'lao-lao,' their homemade grain alcohol. We pawned a few t-shirts for some knit pouches. A very good deal.
